Power To Abate Deceptive, False Or Fabricated Information
(1) If,
also upon inquiring into the concerned person or informant in
relation to the first information report or report received as to any
offence set forth in Schedule-1 or Schedule-2, it appears that it is
unnecessary or meaningless to conduct investigation into such
offence by the reason that such report or information is deceptive,
false or fabricated, the concerned police office shall send a report
setting out that matter to the concerned government attorney office
not later than three days in general cases.
(2) Upon receipt of a report pursuant to sub-section (1), the
concerned government attorney office may abate the investigation
into such offence for the time being subject to the conducting of

investigation as and when additional evidence is found if there is no
reasonable ground to conduct such investigation immediately or give
direction, accompanied by the reason, to the investigating authority
to conduct further investigation if, upon studying the nature of
commission of offence on that occasion, it thinks appropriate to
conduct investigation immediately.
(3) If the government attorney office gives direction to
conduct investigation pursuant to sub-section (2), the concerned
investigating authority shall conduct investigation into such offence.
